School Musical

Musical Theater

 

The annual school musical is a treat beyond compare. A collaboration among the dance, theater, and chours programs, this opportunity  is open to ALL students across grades. Auditions take place in November. The show is in March. Rehearsals are after school (and during some lunch periods). There are many ways to get involved, from acting to stage design to managing stage lights. It's a wonderful show that is sure to delight, especially because students are such talented singers, dancers, actors, and theater technicians.

 

An important aspect of the mustical is exposing students to three primary eras of the Broadway musical - Early, Golden Age (1940's - 1960's), and Modern. These categories build student knowledge about and appreciation for musical theater within a historical and cultural context.  School productions over the years:
